Pottery is a hobby that I love but I also like to give it a greater purpose. So I use it as my way to give to The Oasis Project - a charity running a school in Gambia.

The Oasis Project (The Gambia) is run by Chris Hayter in Milton Keynes. When visiting Gambia some years ago she saw a huge need for good quality education for children there. The Gambian government is not able to provide education for all children of primary school age and even if parents have the funds to pay there are still not enough school places for all children, so many miss out on an education completely. Simply being able to read and write opens up so many opportunities for these children which are otherwise denied to them.

So Chris Hayter started a primary school in Gambia which is continuing to grow and thrive. They have recently moved to a larger site and there is a constant need for funds to develop the site, provide good facilities and expand the number of children they can educate.

All profits from selling my pottery go to this school.
